Best Players of the eleventh Week
The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the Regular Season’s eleventh week in four categories.
Last week, the League’s teams played 41 games, with 599 players (43 goalies, 197 defensemen, and 359 forwards) taking part in the action. The scoring was at 4.66 goals per game.
— Best goalie for the second time in his career was Alexander Sudnitsin (Neftekhimik), who won three games of four last week. Sudnitsin faced 120 shots (or 30 per night), posting a saves percentage of 95.83% and a goals-against average of 1.23. The Russian goalie posted shutouts in the games against Traktor (1:0) and Lokomotiv (1:0), helped Neftekhimik defeating Avtomobilist (4:3), and backstopped his team’s net in the SO defeat against Sibir (2:3 SO). Sudnitsin was awarded best goalie honors in the 2014-2015 nineteenth week, again representing Neftekhimik.
— Best defenseman for the second time in his career was Damir Sharipzyanov (Avangard), who won four games of four with his team last week. Sharipzyanov scored 3 (1+2) points and posted no negative ratings, with a plus-5 differential. He also recorded one hit, blocked eight shots, earned two powerplays for his team, and netted the game-winner in the Hawks’ win over Vityaz. Sharipzyanov was awarded best defenseman honors in last season’s twelfth week.
— Best forward for the first time in his career was Alexander Polunin (Lokomotiv), who won three of four games last week with his team. Polunin scored 4 (4+0) points and posted no negative ratings, with a plus-4 differential. In the Railwaymen’s victory over SKA (3:1), Polunin netted a hat-trick and the game-winner. He also recorded three hits, blocked two shots, and earned two powerplays for his team.

— Best rookie for the first time in his career was Arseny Gritsyuk (Avangard), who won four games of four with his team last week. Gritsyuk posted 5 (4+1) points, posted no negative ratings, and finished the week with a plus-4 differential.
